Developing Critical Thinking in E-learning Environment

This paper investigated the impact of using E-learning model with the principles of the constructivism learning theory to enhance the critical thinking skills of students at the university-level. The focus of this study was critical thinking pedagogy and the impact of E-learning environment on a class of students. The study effort empirically examined the effectiveness of E-learning model in enhancing students' critical thinking. An empirical design with control group was employed in this study. The target population for this study was identified as undergraduate information systems' students enrolled in spring 2005 and fall 2006 semesters at Kuwait University. The resulting sample consisted of 41 students in E-learning groups and 36 in the traditional groups used as a control group.
