The Principal, Mrs Lynette Tout, briefly outlines Werribee Primary School’s trialling of the Learning By Design framework by four teachers that now has been adopted school wide. She discusses the benefits of her participation as school leader and co-learner in the project.

Two teachers of Year 1/2 students outline sample activities in four of the knowledge processes, highlighting the transformation of their teaching practice and their students. They also demonstrate how the knowledge processes are interconnected across curriculum areas.

Year 5/6 teachers share evidence that the Learning By Design model has achieved increased student learning confidence, motivation to learn and connectedness to school and peers. They provide a learning journey map used to monitor student progress. Students and teachers use the map to reflect on and record individual and group learning.

Kelvin, pedagogy mentor, provides data from statewide assessment instruments to demonstrate the impact Werribee Primary’s involvement in the Learning By Design research.
